Football cakes and cupcakes are the perfect addition to many momentous celebrations such as birthday parties and Super Bowl parties.  In this post, we are sharing some of the best supplies available to help you create the perfect tasty treat.  

Many of the supplies featured like cake toppers and cupcake picks make an easy way to prepare a tasty football themed dessert and are always a huge hit with party guests of all ages.

To start, we wanted to share our favorite football cake tutorial.  This video gives a step-by-step tutorial on how to create a 3D football cake, texture and all.  It is super in-depth and easy to follow along with the instructions.

We love this one because it does not require a major base for the cake!  No metal rods, no screws, no wood base!  Just simply a cake, icing and fondant.

Our favorite use of a frosting sheet for a football themed cake is to use this football field edible icing image.  Next, all you need to do is decorate the field with football figures, goal posts and any text that you wish to add. Summer parties are exciting, and for those who love sharks nothing could be better than celebrating a special occasion with shark themed cakes and cupcakes.  In this post, we are sharing some of our favorite design ideas, tutorials and the best items we have found to make your shark party dessert a dream come true.

A shark themed cake gives you so much room for creativity in the design and makes for an excellent party decoration.  You have the freedom to easily customize the design and incorporate your favorite types of sharks, like great whites or hammerheads, by simply adding a few items like shark figurines.

Cupcakes are an easy way to have a cute dessert that provides guests with a takeaway party favor, like a shark figurine.

The video below is our current favorite stylized shark cake.  Zoes Fancy Cakes shares a complete tutorial on how to make an incredibly detailed shark face cake from a photograph.  One of our favorite aspects of this cake design is that there is no cake board or structural elements required.  Even if you want to use a cake topper or frosting sheet to style your cake, this video is definitely worth watching.

The ways to customize a cake to incorporate your favorite shark themes are endless.  You can make underwater scenes with your favorite species of sharks, sharks circling a boat or maybe even some casual swimmers.  Or you could even style a humorous shark cake as a swimming pool design with sharks swimming amongst casual pool goers.

Style cupcakes with a shark theme by using any combination of cupcake picks and wrappers.  A creative idea is to use a blue or wave themed cupcake wrapper with shark fin cupcake picks.  This design would look perfect with a cupcake with blue icing.  For an extra touch to orient the design towards a shark attack, you could also add some red sprinkles.

A perfect idea for an F-18 jet-themed cake is to create a runway or flight deck design for your cake surface and place jet aircraft figures on top.

You can also make an F-18 cake topper with fondant, like the one in the video shown below.

How to make the F18 Top Gun jet plane from fondant Icing Video

The fondant model in this video is our absolute favorite do-it-yourself jet cake creation.  Especially since you can customize the F-18 you create with a pilot name, just like on a real jet!  This is the perfect personalization factor.  The tutorial shows the final aircraft on a cake resembling the sky.  However, you can always place it on a flight deck scene instead.

We couldn’t choose just one favorite cake decorating idea for dinos so we decided to share our top two at the beginning and end of the cake section of the post.

The first video is a tutorial on how to create a Jurassic World inspired cake of an intricate volcano scene with fondant cake toppers.  It is just incredible.  An idea to personalize this cake style is to use a fondant or figurine of your favorite type of dinosaur or dinosaurs.  To remove the Jurassic World portion of the cake for just a regular dinosaur cake, simply just don’t include the fondant logo.

We wanted to share our favorite video for creating and decorating a graduation cake. The cake in the video is so beautiful and creative. It would be so easy to adopt all or some of the ideas shown in the video to make your own special cake. You could change fondant colors to match school colors, change the cutout of an individual to match that of your graduate, add a design element such as a mini cake that resembles a book, etc. The possibilities are endless!
